Yr Reader is still deeply affected by this poem.
The effort below has not yet been typed up for his own corrections etc. It was inspired by your "The Lost Notebook"

Omslag

My notebook lies furred in a layer of dust
When Lela's asking eyes ebbed with the sea;
Her opportune flagrance of will and must
Were not for waiting loves, or him, or me.

Atlantic spring tides could not make room
For a Burma Star or regimental wings
That beat on empty pages where so soon
I'll leaf from Lela, and small elusive things.

*My Writer may, from her Reader's Brazilian stories, recall Lela from the Avenida Atlantico in Rio de J.

Yr Reader regrets yr footnote added to this and wonders what they actually rejected, the bunch of ingrates.
