I step through the gate,
Crude iron and steel,
Trapping all within
For eternity;
Ivy everywhere.
The dull grey stones,
Some big, some small,
Each telling a tale
Of elation and heroics,
But ultimately saddness;
Ivy has outgrown them all.
I take one last look.
Ever respectful,
For it will be us someday,
Under those grey stones;
Ivy will outgrow us all.
