Wendy C. Barton

Not Mine

He’s in my thoughts
I know, I cannot
to enjoy would be sin
but I cannot be, without him

The uncertainty of the situation
Tortures me with bittersweet pleasure
Voltage shooting down my spine
I cannot react, he is not mine

Thought I could have him as my friend
but I want him as my lover, instead
There is a limit we must maintain
as he wraps his arms around my pain
