Justine Knolle

Anorexia and Alcoholism

A classic combination
is vodka and cocaine,
as discovered by the singer,
the now deceased Cobain.

This is the story
of the girl next door.
She was on a diet
since the age of four.
Skinny as the needle
she used for her shot --
Heroine, speed, ecstasy and pot.
“TO HELL WITH DESTRUCTION!”
she wrote on her wall.
I could hear her yelling
from across the hall.
One night she fell asleep
and never again awoke.
The doctor’s report stated:
‘An overdose of coke.’

This was the story
of the girl next door.
She will never trip again;
she ain't in pain no more.
