Richard Rodriguez

World Trade Tribute

Two beautiful creatures stood sentinel in the city of new,
Side by side they swayed askew, the ripples
I caused, going through the masses, to be
Engulfed in the maw with tinted glasses; these
Monstrous mountains so strong and proud never failed
To please any of the crowds; until that faithful day,
That hung over; all like a volcanic shroud. So now two
Beautiful mountains reduced to rubble, because man cannot
Peacefully solve their troubles.
