Sitting on my bed
Watching the raindrops
Outside the window -
Knocking steadily -
Like hammers in my mind.
I still remember
How it felt
To hold you
To lay my arms around you.
Now that it's over
The World is grey,
Dark and unfriendly:
I wanna cry
But my eyes stay dry.
Too many emotions
Running through my mind.
Too fast to grasp one of them.
They just flicker
For a part of a second -
To fade as fast as they came.
There you stand:
In the doorway.
Silent - only watching me.
I still observe the flow of the raindrops
Not recognising
That you are here.
Then you're knocking
Knocking on the wooden frame
And I hear the difference of the sound.
My eyes follow the sound
And my body turns
Slowly turns around.
Then I see you:
With tears in your eyes.
You wanna say something,
But the tears are too strong.
So you only stand there
Watching me with rainy eyes.
I get up
And walk
The few steps
'Til I reach you.
I embrace you.
You embrace me.
We are connected
And start for a second time.
