De la poesía y su valor


 
 
 …  si de algo ha de servir la poesía - su ritmo, su armonía y melodía -
que sea para instar la luz;
¡ porque, ay la lumbre y ay las lumbres,
ay el fuego que causa estragos a la muerte con sólo el himno que instruye la belleza !
… mientras sea y siga aquí, con su efímero don, la palabra,
mientras pulse y penetre y encienda el alma, la exégesis del mundo,
ah corazón mío,
mientras nos haga vibrar, sentir y vivir,
- y alzar el vuelo y resucitar -
¿ no será un hálito hermosísimo del ser, tu caz de verdad, tu rosa ardiendo ?
dime, hermano corazón, dime ¿ es que acaso no lo es…?
