Does your bed creak at night
When you or I turn over?
And are your sheets as white
As the cliffs in Dieppe or Dover?
Are they silk, satin, cotton or lace
And will they soothe my sunburnt face?
Do you dream on your pillows?
Are they soft, or are they hard?
And will I feel safe there,
Or should I stay on guard?
Which is your side:
To the left or on the right?
And will you read to me?
And poems recite?
And gone the night
Between your sheets I awake.
Will the magic still be there?
Or will the spell have gone break?
Will I still be your lady,
Your passion, your love?
Or will you have done with me?
Will you've had enough?
Will I still be your mermaid?
The Queen of your sea?
Or is there another
Someone other than me?
