Second Chances, Part One: 'Pain'

So, I find myself standing on a rooftop,
surrounded by memories of a moment
that turned my whole world upside-down.

They come in flashbacks.

YOU in the middle of a mess called 'home'.
YOU playing guitar in the middle of the night.
YOU switching on the telly and handing me a rootbeer.
YOU cooking dinner, unprepared for what's to come.
YOU standing on the sidewalk, torn.

And ME shouting 'Get the hell away from me!'

I pushed you away
when all I needed was
your loving embrace...
