... mientras pongan grilletes a tu libertad
 
no existe la oración, ni el canto, ni la danza;
 

 
mientras cunda el hambre, la angustia o la violencia,
 
busca el pan, la alegría, la palabra;
 

 
mientras toda justicia se ciña sólo a ley,
 
reúne las leyes y expúlsalas del alma:
 

 
y mientras alguien incendie el universo,
 
tú debes ser el pozo, el cántaro y el agua;
 

 
... solo así vencerás tu esclavitud.
