Arne Bister

Chestnut Honey Breakfast

 When color fades
and greyness dulls the senses
when paler shades
of life mourn caged in fences
when waking up
means being on my own
I drink my cup
of coffee all alone.

The scent of honey
from fine chestnut trees
like golden sunny
sweet happiness will please
the mind, caress
and gently kiss my lips
with sweetness bless
the heart from which it drips.

I kindly thank the bees.
