Michael A. Fischer

Time

From time to time,  time decays.
If an endless stream of sand runs dry,
If the last of all the truths has died,
There will be questions with no answer,
There will be answers with no question.

In the bottomless sea of your eyes I am lost.
I am drowning while I breathe in air.
The shadows of the past have killed the future light.
For a moment the wheel stops spinning.
For a moment the clock stops ticking.

My mind breaks the surface of my soul,
I grasp a glance at what is lost...

...and die.
