Patrick Rabe

God, Part lll

Don’t believe in uncle Satan and spiritual illusion,
Don’t  believe in bright religious leaders, they only bring confusion,
I don’t believe the promises of everlasting youth,
I’m only saying that a good mind sees the truth.

They turn your mind around and blind you every day,
They talk about salvation and throw stones in your way,
They make you chew old bubblegum, as if it was sweet candy,
They tell you, life is wonderfull, just be a handy dandy.

But everything is simpler than they tell you every day,
You’ve known it when you were a child and you did not obey
The foolish teachings showing only forbidden fruits,
You were just human kicking mud with your  nice wellington boots.

The answer is your heart, my friend, the answer is your blood,
Be yourself, and you’ll be saved from the dark, man eating flood.
God will be your chamber mate, when you let him in,
Love will keep your fire bright and in the end, you’ll win.
