Disillusion

Disillusion

Why is it that the sun
has lost all glory
and things that were sheer fun
seem dull to me,

why is it that quite more
I like the rain, the mist, the storm,
that I prefer the seagulls of the shore
than care for sweet songs of the nightingale?

The nights are dark and cold.
I cannot fall asleep,
the memories I hold
haunt me till dawn is breaking.
They don’t give rest and sting
and stir my blood.
Nothing can ease me bring
and soothe my yearning.
