MILKY WAY

...so, so dense is the night,
that I look at the sky with being disturbed by an enormous lightness;
... where, where am I - I say to myself - and what god is this,
that, he raises me so high, that he deepens me and keeps me in this body armor,
And in the face of such immensity he holds me and reaps my chest like a blade?
Who, who am I to start life for the first time in this stillness of the world
and long for a flight like hope?
...to the love of the path, the fireflies scream with their little light,
while with me the veils of blood and grass rustle,
the white stones and the poplars;
...but the Milky Way is still huge and high, and, my dear God,
spread its celestial clusters so that here, so far away, I do not catch fire or die;
...tonight, no, I will no longer be able to forget it.
