Beyond the Question Mark: Fate's Final Punctuation

Within our bond, I thought we were secure,
But hidden plots obscured the truth we'd share.
In life's passage, fate's hand proved to endure
And friendship's warmth turned to a bitter snare.

Each day reveals the knife within your smile,
A friend's deception, a wound to my core.
Trust shattered, innocence lost in the guile,
Leaving scars that ache, bleed, and implore.

Oh, had I seen the signs, the subtle cues,
Before your betrayal tore us apart!
Regret now fills my heart, pain that ensues,
For ignorance prolonged the stabbing dart!

And friendship's warmth, now lost beyond repair,
No question mark where fate's full stop did glare.
