The Journey of Sometimes

There are days I wander aimlessly down my street,
Longing for childhood's rocking horse retreat.
Restless nights leave me seeking silent peace,
Doors I close behind, hoping thoughts will cease.

I sway between cold shivers and heated flare,
Knowledge slipping through fingers, unaware.
Morning finds me weary, the day's a climb,
Seeking solace in a song’s gentle rhyme.

Seven bridges to cross, years of night,
Turning to ashes before finding light.
Life's clock pausing, circling around,
Wanderlust driving, yet anchored to ground.

At times I grasp for the world in my sight,
Other times I watch stars fall from their height.
Giving less when I'd rather bestow,
Love turns to hate in a conflicting flow.
