Horizons of What May Be

The year begins, a path unknown,
With murmurs faint of seeds once sown.
What trials wait in weeks ahead,
What fears will rise, what hopes be fed?

Shall plans dissolve, as oft before,
Left wrecked upon misfortune's shore?
Or will they bloom, with steadfast will,
Though patience falters, dreams stand still?

Resolutions, bold and keen,
Stand fragile 'gainst the unforeseen.
Will effort find its strength renew,
Or fail beneath a world askew?

Yet longing stirs within the chest,
For quiet days and hours at rest.
For joy in things both small and near,
For beauty pure, unmarked by fear.

Oh, may this year bring more than strife,
A kinder rhythm to this life.
Let calmness fill the vast unknown,
As hardships fade, as hearts have grown.

No promises the months can swear,
Yet hope endures in knowing care.
So onward tread, though doubts may sting,
For who can guess what time might bring?
