Rebecca K.

You reap what you sow

Every greeting absurd to force me down

Then kiss me again on the mouth

It’s odd how nobody ever noticed

All of the time(s) it went south

He guarded the door all day and night long

(So) I’d stay out late, scared to go home

Then the host family went on holiday leaving

The grandpa with me all alone

Took my hand to ask me if I’m taken

"Hey pretty girl" no place to flee

I didn’t tell a soul what about it

See, they’d all believe him over me

‘Cause I was new, not related, outlander

But when I left he got sick and he died

They called crying and I almost said

I couldn’t shed a tear if I tried
