Storm Heights
Upon the hillside steep and long,
Against the storm the soul moves on.
From the very start it strives its way,
Climbing upward through the spray.
Far one sees over vale and height,
Where waters gather, dark as night.
And people brace against the gale,
While steadfast hearts refuse to fail.
Who only lives on level ground,
Where neither risk nor dreams are found,
Will count himself among the weak
When doubts within his spirit speak.
Yet doubts can only hold their reign
If no one tells us clear and plain
That fear and shadows will disappear
When courage strongly rises over fear.
