ANDY – CHRONICLES OF THE AGE OF MISFORTUNE / Parts 1, 2 and 3
Part 1 – The Cemetery
ANDY visits an old cemetery with a group of young Kuköms.
At first, the youngsters mistake it for a park.
Then they realize:
Beneath every stone lies a human being.
Forever.
A girl asks,
"Why didn't they repair them?"
ANDY replies,
"Back then, they couldn't."
Another asks,
"Then why didn't they preserve them?"
ANDY remains silent.
Part 2 – The Cosmetic Clinic
A world-famous actress undergoes a facelift.
The surgeon is delighted with the flawless result.
At the very same moment, ANDY is looking beyond the surface.
He sees her coronary arteries.
Her neurons.
The damage encoded in her DNA.
The readers already know:
She will die soon.
No one mentions it.
Part 3 – The Nursing Home
An elderly professor.
A genius in his field.
Winner of multiple Nobel Prizes.
Yet now he can no longer recognize his own daughter.
ANDY stands beside him.
A Kuköm asks,
"Why wasn't his brain transferred long ago?"
ANDY answers,
"Because they still believed aging was natural."
