Justine Knolle

Ode to Reason.

Hot as an icicle.
Cool.
A sizzling flame.
At times a wond’ring gypsy girl,
then a mannered dame.

Calm as the waterfall.
Deep.
A shallow grave.
With secrets hidden, far away
in the darkened mountain cave.

A puzzle with no pieces.
A universe that never ceases.
Norway without the fjords.
Ladies! Where are the Lords?

More x and less y.
Believe me – I surely try
to emerge from b’hind my mask
Where I am safe
is quite a task.

Showing myself
for the world to see.
At times I hide.
At times I flee.

My many moods
and me.
