Hollie Walker

Mother-Wanna-Be

She dreams of fat cheeks and little feet and hands.

She holds onto a dream where children are in her plans.

She cannot think of anything better to be.

She is  a Mother-wanna-Be bouncing a dream on her knee.

She looks to the future where she can hold her little one so tight.

She longs to tuck the covers under its chin when she lays it down at night.

If she only could hold that dream with her hands and see.

She is a Mother-Wanna-Be bouncing a dream on her knee.

She wants to be a Mother and a comforter, a provider and a guider.

She tells herself there will be a little angel in her future to make it brighter.

That woman that holds to a prayer is me.

I am just a Mother-Wanna-Be bouncing a dream on my knee.
