Último Escalón

Comenzó a subir pisos sin parar, como si tuviese que tocar el cielo antes que nadie, sin barreras, sin límites. Subió uno tras otro, sin descanso, hasta que llegó a la gran azotea de aquel edificio. Miró a un lado y al otro, inspiró profundamente y sintió cómo el aire le traía tranquilidad, descanso, y una paz que jamás había sentido. Continuó andando hacia delante, hasta llegar el límite de aquel lugar. Asomó la cabeza al vacío, observándolo todo, sin perderse ningún detalle. Subió aquel último escalón con total decisión, y dar ese salto al abismo, que le alejaría de todos sus problemas. Metió la mano en su bolsillo, sacó un paquete de tabaco, y sentado en la repisa se fumó un cigarrillo tranquilamente.
