Elizabeth Hatfield

Bliss

Ignorance, the bliss of youth

so naive, nothing in it's truth

all that exists is joy or pain

for in that mind things can be insane

Age darkens that bright spark of hope

studies thrust upon, you learn to cope

in reason and logic the mysteries are explained

and the excitement, the joy of everyday is drained

Enjoy those years of empty want and need

nothing is as it seems in the view of a child's creed

then you age and proper names are given

the world is made smaller, cut in half by this division
