Little fingers,
little toes,
if you’re sleeping,
no one knows.
I walk up,
and see you are,
cuddled up,
you’re very far
away in your dreams.
Your arm around that
teddy bear,
I stand and watch
you sleeping there,
your cheerful eyes are out
of sight,
your lips in a peaceful smile.
You were so tired
that your head,
fell straight onto the bed,
Your face in many pillows,
resting,
and I say,
sleep well today,
and after you’ll go out to play
