An Eyeful of Promise

the minstrel invokes
the spirit of the night

with a feast of words
and a festival of song

night comes alive
with the fire of hope

as drums engage feet
in a dialogue of dance

the sensuous sway
of beaded waists

starts a sizzling song
of longing in loins

the moon kisses the dimples
in the maiden's soft smiles

and the bride's heavy breast
is an eyeful of promise.
