Justine Knolle

SOLO

There is something infinitely sad
About a woman
Drinking on her own.
Staring into space.
Glaring at the phone.

Waiting in vain
For her lifelong friend.
For her heart to heal.
For her mood to mend.

When will the sun
reshine on her face?
When will she feel
His loving embrace?

When will she see
The joy in his eyes?
Just one final time
Before she dies.
