Maddiie Vali

Empty Promises

A mistake

It made her speechless, frightened

His hand, unfamiliar now

She is quiet, suffering, broken

Alone

Her colorless eyes

Tears stripping away their liveliness

Scarred for eternity

By the memory of being tormented

He lifts his hand, she becomes tense

With the burning hope that he has changed

He hits her, shock, confusion, silence

Like needles on her skin

She will never forget that night

When will she be free
